Alvor
Alvor is a picturesque fishing village, popular with both the Portuguese and those from further afield. The narrow cobbled streets wind down to the fishing harbour where there are many restaurants, cafés, bars and shops.
Local Sunday Market
Every Sunday in Alvor there is a local market filled with fresh, locally-grown produce. It takes place down by the harbour.
Beaches
The fabulous 3 mile beach is rated one of the best on the Algarve and just a 10 minute walk from the property. A leisurely walk along the boardwalk, through the nature reserve, can take you from the beach side restaurants and sun loungers to a deserted area of golden sand. Head in the other direction and you will come to Praia dos Tres Irmaos (or Beach of the three friends) complete with Canico restaurant nestled in the cliffs.
Watersports are available on the beach and kitesurfing (mainly on the lagoon).
There are sun loungers and shades available for hire or you can just put your towel down on the sand.
During the bathing season the beach has a lifeguard and the area covered is clearly marked.

Soul in the Algarve
Each May the Soul in the Algarve Festival (SITA) comes to Alvor and visitors can enjoy the carnival atmosphere on the streets in Alvor. You can always check with us for the current year dates.
